I've spoken to a few people who have been to Israel who told me that the Orthodox Jews were a real problem in Israel but I didn't realise how much of an problem they were and the extent of their influence. I can see why peace between Palestine and Israel is unlikely if there are people like that on the Israeli side, regardless of who is on the Palestinian side.
