More Bad News for the Height-Challenged

They’re more likely to be criminals! Or at least they were in 19th-century Pennsylvania, according to a new working paper by Howard Bodenhorn, Carolyn Moehling, and Gregory N. Price. The authors don’t identify a reason for the height differential, but do point out that “[i]f in early America, short individuals faced labor market disadvantage because of either lower productivity due to lesser physical capacity for heavy work, lesser productivity due to lower cognitive ability, or because they faced discrimination, the relative opportunity costs of crime would be lower which would increase the likelihood of transitioning into criminal activity.”

Man I hate articles that are incomplete. It is short people with big feet and small hands, but only if they are dark haired. If they are fair haired and have small feet, then it applies as well.

Why the hell did you even bother with this? LOL

According to John Cleese not a single soul above six feet has caused much trouble... the short ones, on the other hand... Napoleon, Hitler, Alexander the Great... Joe Pesci in any movie he's starred in.

This is scientific. The closer your balls are to the ground, the greater is the gravitational pull on your seminal vesicles therby leading to activation of the pressure receptors which in turn cause the release of extra 5-alpha reductase enzyme thereby converting Testosterone to 5-DHT. And it has been well documented that higher levels of T/DHT are associated with criminal behaviours.[1]

Must keep my eye on my gf. Those fivefooters can't be trusted apparently.
As I pointed the gun at the baby, I decided to add to the dramatic atmosphere.

All of my friends who've been in prison, except one, are shorter than me.

Seems like a perfectly reasonably thing, especially for pre-nutritional education.

Proper nutrition aids growth, improper nutrition stunts growth. The link between poverty and crime is well established. 1+1 =...

Show me they adjusted for median income and household income and I'll be impressed.
(P.S. You'd be SHOCKED the number of things that boil down to 'poverty causes crime.')

I've read that tall and beautiful people tend to earn more that short and ugly people, respectively. But I don't think a beauty tax would be a good idea.

President James Madison was 5 feet 4 inches tall.

Its not a problem, supermarkets and shops just have to put higher value items on the upper shelves. Problem solved!
