I'm just insane. Still musn't grumble could be worse I could be sane.

A twist in my sobriety.

I think in the case of psycho social disorder it is significantly genetic if that answers your question.

Is manic-depression an illness or just a difference in brain function?
I say the latter.

Well I'd agree its a chemical imbalance possibly brought on by hypersensitivity to light amongst other such things.

I suffer from a bi polar disorder that isn't manic depression thank Christ. So I know.

SAD. Basically I have a hyper sensitivity to light so during the winter without medication I just hibernate, I can't even leave my house or function mentally. I have a very severe form that isn't just the winter blues but I am clinically treated for it with SSRIs.

Manic depression is worse it happens more often in the winter and it can lead to suicide more often than my condition and at its worse being committed.

They are related only by being bi polar disorders not chemically or by etiology per se.
