I'll begin with the sub-topic. It's chosen to guard against what I feel would be a derail, in the event somebody wants to add her or his own 10th item to this list of priorities. Should people choose to debate others, that's understandable, but I won't participate. Also, discussion of how some two of them are intertwined will not interest me, primarily because that begins the process of expanding the list. These are listed, more or less, with what I regard as most important first. The first should not be discussed on this thread at all, but is needed to complete the list. Note that I regard population management as extremely important, but feel it's not required as a direct priority, with some of the following expected to aid in removing it from the table. Other issues that are already weighted heavily enough, in my opinion, compared with these, or that can also be expected to be aided in their resolution by these 9, are not of concern here except through their relationship to these.
1) Ensuring Carbon-Dioxide release limits through a combination of efficiencies, conservation, and substitution.
2) Promotion of gender (first and foremost) equality.
3) Promoting our escape from myth (by making their history and false justifications known so that people don't buy and sell them, with certain inevitable changes in power structures that people can be expected to have to prepare for).
4) Expanding peacekeeping operations in order to completely end war and bring out the best in people (as well as save lives, which for hypothetical dead people should be regarded as somewhat connected). People may not be aware of this, but United Nations peacekeepers were awarded the Nobel Peace prize one year despite the fact such prizes usually go to individuals and small groups.
5) Deconstruction of the definition of the family and ideal household, with goals of this ending the tendency toward insularity, increasing social mobility, and removing people from hostage situations or status (This one is somewhat complex and relates closely to another on this list, but it's best to discuss it separately).
6) Connecting education explicitly with societal goals and expanding its role, while also removing the profit motive (The reason for placing this on the list is that it's a necessary, but not guaranteed, benefit of new media).
7) Balancing the need society has to correct malefactors with the complementary need to also forgive them (This is an old issue that has never been given adequate attention for complicated reasons. It has loose connections to the above goal on war-ending).
8) Making the relationship between past, present, and future a science (Some will say it already is, and some will say it can never be. I'm interested in giving adequate weight to this topic, but not over-emphasizing it).
9) Generating a constant awareness of the need to both set priorities and be willing to change them when an issue no longer requires vigilance (or is established as having been resolved).
In order to get an understanding of my my basis--personally (why I, particularly, am presenting such a list)--for declaring these, I recommend a reading of my main thread in the 'Pseudoscience' section, Unbelievable Mathematics, from my last post backward, and read the first post of another thread entitled (under 'Supernatural and Paranormal') List 3 Coincidences You Know Of (For Debunking?).

Here infrequently. I am a messenger and human. Haven't actually been given much info on who is responsible for sending the message. I will get back to you on that if I find out before you.
