It's hard to believe, but true. An atheist group will ask UTSA students to trade in their Bibles for pornographic magazines. Stacia Willson reports.

Probably revamped all the way back from 2005.

They don't have a habit of putting bibles in student accommodation like they do with hotels do they? Because something tells me there'll be a lot needing replacing at the end of the term if so.

Ewwww, some of that stuff they are showing is nasty, I saw a couple of examples of the Book of Mormon in the video at 0:42 seconds. You have to be quick to see it. Is that even legal ?.

I get the message, but I do think it'll cause more offence than have people question their faith.

It'd be cool to do something similar here - say hand out free beer and free contraception.

Pornography may have some negative aspects to it, but it certainly doesn't promote genocide or the murder of one's child.

Mhhhm, I like that idea! Simply take those annoying bibles that you find in the drawer of any hotel room and exchange it for... PORN!

At the University of Texas San Antonio campus, a college atheist group is offering students pornography in exchange for Bibles, Korans, or other religious texts. The group, Atheist Agenda, calls the exchange "Smut for Smut".

Group members claim that the Bible and other religious texts are just as as smutty as any pornography. According to the group, the Bible contains all sorts of misogyny, violence, torture and questionable sexual practices.

Seems like a very bad idea to me. They're giving away the wrong sort of porn.

The core idea could be better gotten across by use of an illustrated Bible (I understand there actually is one), depicting all the lascivious and violent scenes from the conquest of Canaan. Put that out where people can exchange their dull old non-illustrated Bibles for the real stuff, and then dare the Christians to come out and denounce it.

It's a good deal, where everyone wins. The people can trade in their bibles for porn and proceed to enjoy and the guys giving out porn now have free toilet paper so they don't have to spend on the overpriced store bought toilet paper.

The only downside is that, with the internet, people can get their porn for free...but still, who would refuse more free porn?
