I'm picturing this from your description, but it's not a painting:

Hah, you got SoundHound for that, lak! I heard it can search for those 'ba de boom da da da's as well.

Appreciate your suggestions, not there yet.

Edit: that's a good book by the way, Miss Peregrine's watsit.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!

I could have removed my whole reply, but then it wouldn't be as funny :P

In my defence, at least I wasn't the one who called Susan Boyle a goose.

Please. I feel bad enough already. It's not her fault she's Scottish.

I hope that's not going to offend anyone

Fall - are you sure it was a painting & not just something done specifically for the book cover?

I remember turning the book over and reading what the cover art was. I have a habit of doing that. This is why I thought it was Leonora Carrington, I half-remember seeing her name there. It's the right style, but it never comes up in a web search of her work.
