I'm With Stupid wrote:I dunno, I don't really hate genres as such, because a good song is a good song, and the genre is usually just down to the production. And most music in most genres is pretty average to be fair. I suppose some genres are more annoying when they're shit, whereas crap R&B or indie just kinda fades into the background. There are certain genres I've never really got into, I suppose, although that's mainly because I've never tried. Jazz is one (I'll buy Kind of Blue eventually), although this is a favourite on my MP3 player:

Country is another, although I've seen a bit of bluegrass and that looks a bit more interesting than the shit you see on TV depictions of country music. But I haven't listened to enough to post anything.
One genre I don't tend to like is proper trance and house music, although there is the odd song, like this one:

Like I said, if the song is good enough, it makes not a shite of difference.
And I hate everything that modern gangsta rap stands for, but there is one song that gets me every time:

I think that might have more to do with the film though (despite also hating everything that Tom Cruise stands for).
I'm With Stupid wrote:Yeah I've never got opera. The whole premise seems to be, "it's difficult, therefore it's good." Which also seems to be the premise for ballet, while I'm at it.
