Tails Pretends He's an Animator

All right so
If you know me from TU you ought to know that I kind of aspire to become an animator

Maybe not as a full time job because really how much of a living can you make off of animating, but maybe as some sort of hobby...

So, I downloaded a program today called Pencil Animation and it's really simplified animating but it works well for me until I can get Flash or something more advanced.
With it, I created these two animations.

I had a third one but the program became unresponsive and died on me. It was only four frames though. Nothing big.

So um, yeah. Both aren't all that long but considering they're my second and third attempts at animating, they're better than I expected. And goddamn is animating lengthy and hard. And to think of all the synchronizing I'd have to do with voices and music and the coloring and...everything. Jesus.

Hobbies are hard.

Hmmm. Quite impressive.

That said, you should probably keep in mind that I'm 200 years old and regard this so-called electricity as a lot of fuss about nothing, so my being impressed might not count for a whole lot.

Well you'll probably have better luck at getting a job with a degree in Animation than I can with my degree in Fine Art. :P So glad I took all those digital art classes in college, at least they've been somewhat useful.

If you like animating, you might want to think about taking up 3D modeling/animation as that is a bit more... well.. popular at the moment. 2D is a bit of a dying breed with the exception of tv cartoons. It's very counter-intuitive at first, but a fun challenge. And of course, once you get good at it, and results look awesome. 8D And Blender is free, and works almost as good as the super-expensive, high end crap.

I'll look at your animations when I get home and can actually watch them. o.O
