Solar Opposites on Hulu... from Rick & Morty show runners. Incessant droning by the main character (voiced by one of the creators, apparently) kills it for me. The show doesn't insert pauses anywhere in the dialogue. It's nonstop talking, and the talking ain't that funny or interesting. There's a silent character headed for a major transformation, but I'll never get to that I guess (3 eps so far). When the silent character has scenes to itself, I'm reminded how annoying all the other characters are.

I Am Not Okay With This on Netflix... Misfit girl discovers she has powers. Spaced out it's ok so far (2 eps). Characters likable, writing somewhat quirky. Narration is redundant & drags the show. I don't think there's any benefit... it doesn't tell us anything the scenes don't already show, or which couldn't have been better portrayed on screen. It might kill it, idk yet.

Rick and Morty on Hulu... Finally getting around to it (ep 2). Much better than Solar Opposites.

Midnight Gospel on Netflix... It’s getting tiresome (ep 3).

Defending Jacob on Apple TV+... Still decent (ep 6 downloading now... 2 to go) bc acting, direction. Plot is silly.

Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered: the Lost Children

I was already aware of this subject, but found the series to be a proper eye-opener.

The Golden State Killer: Unmasked. Again, I was aware of the story, but this series showed just how prolific this guy was throughout the state of California, and yet managed to get away with 50+ rapes and 13 murders for decades.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!

Image Unorthodox (Netflix)

(3rd of 4 episodes.) Young bride leaves her Hasidic community in Brooklyn to make a life elsewhere. Great performances. Loosely based on an autobiography. All the showrunners & writers are women. Tri-lingual, and the first Netflix series "primarily in Yiddish".

been circling this for a while ...we'll see... I like the period it covers in the US ( 1896 ) and they've spent on the settings plus decent research.

The new Netflix original series (from Belgium), Into the Night was quite thrilling.
It's multilingual, has a good cast and manages to keep the suspense going almost continuously.
It's about a group of passengers on a flight from Brussels to Moscow, whose plane gets hijacked by a NATO soldier claiming the sun is killing people.
The apocalyptic cause is a bit flimsy, but if you can look past that, the rest of the show is pretty good.

I like how The blacklist ended its season, when they had to stop shooting halfway through it.

good reviews a bit soapy but it's set in Dublin and I'll watch it just for that.

Good cast and interesting cases. Mostly family law and activist and judges seemingly able to make decisions in the best interests of society instead of being law bound :coffee:

More thought seems to have gone into the review than in the program.

I enjoyed it tho the tropes and caricatures were fast and furious. It's the pacing that is fun and some good leads.

We've been rewatching some old series, doing Justified now. I'd forgotten how good it is. We've blitzed two seasons in like four days. Favorite Raylan quote so far "how bad we talking, head in a duffel bag or just an asshole?"

Great show, developed by Canadian Graham Yost, son of Elwy Yost. Elwy hosted Magic Shadows and Saturday Night at the Movies on the provincial public broadcast channel TV Ontario and did some amazing “deep dive” Hollywood interviews with directors, screen writers, cinematographers, producers, etc. Love of story telling in film was a passion of his. A lot of his interviews can be found on Youtube. They’re worth a watch.
