Video game(s) you're playing

#1  Postby LIFE » Jun 27, 2010 7:48 pm

Just bought this and it's fun:

Fantasy round-based/role-playing strategy game, think Heroes of Might and Magic or King's Bounty.

WTF???? When did this come out? I LOVED Disciples 2, played it for hours. I heard they were gonna make a third one, but I had no idea it was out already...

To answer the OP: none, really, it's exam time for me. Played a little Diablo 2 a few weeks ago, and random flash games...

The English version just a few days ago. Love it, very dark.

Yeah I rarely play myself these days, can't wait for Diablo III though! Even though it's way too colourful.

Awesome. As soon as my exams are done and my laptop is working properly again, I'm so getting this game. Ah, the good ol' days... :sigh:

Yeah, I don't exactly like the graphics style either. Bothered me in WC3, too, and possibly will in Starcraft 2 (can't wait), but I'll give them this. I mean, they're Blizzard, they haven exactly produced a bad game so far...

Oh, and as far as information on this is out, they cut out both my favorite classes (Paladin and Necro). Now I'll have to fist people with a monk guy...

Try not comparing it to Disciples 2 when you can, it certainly is different, they changed a few things.
It's still fun to play but I'll reserve further judgement until I've played it a bit more :D

As long as it's still turn-based-strategy in a dark fantasy universe, I think I'll be fine... ;)

Umm it was not released where I live *shakes fist* Looks like my cup of tea though.

Playing on and off King's Bounty Armored Princess, Jagged Alliance 2, and Sins of Solar Empire, taking break from 100's hours in Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 2, waiting for Mafia 2 and Star Wars: The Old Republic, possibly Shogun 2 Total War, ArcaniA - Gothic 4, Deus Ex 3 Human Revolution, The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Fallout 3 New Vegas, and Civilization V .

Going to check Steam for Disciples III as I write this! Better have it .. putas! ;)

edit: and they do not .. *cries*

Tetris and the Sims 3 mostly these days.
My interest in video games goes up and down.

Mr. Cheezy on the other hand has ALWAYS been a gamer, and I suspect, always will be. And I actually enjoy watching him play, so that's okay with me.

Just finished this one a couple of weeks ago. The sequel will be released within the next months.

Classic!

I've heard good things about this game, though I suspect my machine is too slow for decent graphics :(

Can You Run It: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

DAO is not too demanding, and "true" gamer *shrugs* knows eye candy is overrated ;) Beware though, it does not have combat log and abolishment of AD&D could be somehow disappointing. What is not disappointing: dialogs, stories, music, characters, combat mechanics (via Pause essentially turn-based) in general, and epic encounters. Aimed at mainstream while keeping enough "beef" to catch interest of those on fringe in my opinion. Lots of bang for a buck too - easily 40+ hours of game-play, which is unseen in todays games.

JA2 .. what to say without using superlatives?

You know, Bernie (love that name :P), wouldnt it be great if there was a video game sub forum? :naughty2:
(question directed at Life, Bernhard > Bernie  )
---
Im currently on the Eve-Online trial, but i dont really want to get too much into the game before Jumpgate Evolution is released whenever that is, wanna try that first then i will just play one of them

Otherwise i only play Hyperiums, which is kind of slow paced
I used to play Team Fortress 2 constantly but ive kinda moved away from first person shooters, played through both Mass Effect games twice this last month...

Ill just say what games i have installed on my computer even if i dont play them very much at the moment:
Battlefield 1942 (I only play the Forgotten Hope mod)
Grand Theft Auto IV
Rise of Nations
World of Goo
Fallout 3
Hearts of Iron 2
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance
Navyfield
Mass Effect 1 & 2
Eve-Online
Pirates of the Burning Sea
Starcraft
Half-life
Half-life 2 (and the episodes)
Team Fortress 2
Counter-Strike: Source

 (might seem like a waste of space since i dont play most of them atm)

I play Eve Online at the moment. Dabbled on and off with World of Warcraft but its really just a terrible game that you need to give up your life to get anywhere without actually getting anywhere.

I've recently purchased Final Fantasy 13 and i'm quite disappointed with it so far. The combat system leaves one choosing a strategy for the side-kicks and, it seems, one cannot select them individually, even if using 'wait' on the ATB.
Whereas before I may have equipt one of the others with Ifrit or Shiva, for a bit of extra punch, the computer's AI totally removes control. It just doesn't feel right.
Civ 5 looks cool.
