Guitar guy had to be one of the highlights of that movie. Was a pretty damn good movie too so it is in good company.

Being a hardcore fan of MM2, what I like about that movie is that it is on a much more plausible scale. That being said, the production values of MM:FR were great.

That one was rather haunting. Not just spooky but sad.

Yes, a hard watch in places.

She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.

Only because the sound of sheer awesome coming off them causes visual disturbances in the watcher.

I finished The Bay and In Fear this afternoon. Poor Tom and Lucy. :(

I'm suffering an adverse reaction from finding that you enjoy the same kinds of films that I do. I'm just lashing out.

Redial tells me that Innkeepers is worth a watch. And it's on the list. I might give that one a twirl next.

Pretty much that entire opening sequence, I was continuously in the process of losing my mind. Guitar guy and his entire rig was hysterical.

edit: Oh yeah, don't forget the drummer guys! They were great too.

Thing is, MM2 seems like it was really whacked out for its time. I don't think anyone had ever seen anything like the crazy characters in that film. The new one just does the same thing for audiences of 2015 who've been through MM2 and everything between. The first part of it had me completely flabbergasted -- so much weird, insane, fucked up and funny shit, didn't even know what I was looking at half the time. It'll take multiple viewings before I even really see it all.

I am still a bit confused about one thing. Who the fuck was the girl that kept freaking him out in his visions? Was that meant to be his 5 year old boy from the first movie? Was it the girl that survived from MM2? Is it just some random kid he couldn't save?

I loved spotting the call backs to MM2. And so far no mention of MM3, I might spot something to do with that on later viewings.
