tor of Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences Hospital said that though the condition of Sai Baba remained more or less the same as on Monday, his level of consciousness had considerably improved.
"His vital systems are in stable condition. He still continues to be on assisted ventilation through ventilator and CRRT, which is a slow dialysis process," it said.
While the doctors at the hospital, which is one of the finest hospitals run by the Satya Sai Trust, is doing everything possible, the state government and the legions of devotees of the Baba are not leaving much to chance. The state government deputed two top IAS officers, Principal Secretary Health Dr P V Ramesh and former Principal Health secretary L V Subrahmanyam to Puttaparthi to personally supervise and coordinate all the health care measures for the 85-year Baba.
The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed Baba`s condition at a high level meeting. "We are coordinating with the trust hospital to provide all the best possible medicare to the Baba," he said and added that he was deputing Revenue Minister Raghuveera Reddy and Industry Minister Mrs Gita Reddy to Puttaparrthi for the purpose.
The devotees of Baba are mobilising medical help worldwide. Two medical experts from USA arrived this morning to help local doctors. Sai Seva trust sources said more specialist doctors from London and Australia are on their way to Puttaparthi.
The Chief Minister said though he had earlier planned to go to Puttaparthi, but postponed the same as he wanted everyone to remain focused on Baba treatment.
Revenue Minister Raghuveerra Reddy, who returned from Puttaparthi and gave a report on Sai Baba condition to the Chief Minister, later appealed to his followers not to trust rumors and not to get emotional.
On Monday hundreds of devotees tried to break into the hospital after rumours spread that Baba was critical and not responding to treatment. They damaged some vehicles and tried to attack the district collector and other officials for not allowing them to have a glimpse of the ailing Baba.
