Everyone knows who this is:

I was reading an article on the Battle of Isandhwana, and I ran into this picture of the British forces commander, Frederic Thesiger, the Second Baron Chelmsford:

The resemblance struck me right away. I wonder if the guys who wrote Modern Warfare modelled Price after this real person.

He was modelled after a real life British soldier but a more recent one. The late Staff Sergeant John McAleese MM.

He is best known for being the guy who blew out the windows of the Iranian embassy during operation Nimrod:

Yep. Thats him.

Alledgedly when watching the news footage after the embassy siege he managed to tell Mrs Thatcher to get her head out of the F***ing way of the telly as she was blocking his view!

He was on an SAS programme about tactics and equipment (SAS Survival Secret IIRC) a few years back. He really is the person you think of when you think of an SAS guy.

I read Neil Oliver's Amazing Tales for Making Men Out of Boys which had a chapter on the Battle of Isandlwana, it makes for a fantastic story, sad that it get's massively overshadowed by Rorke's Drift the very next day.

The resemblance doesn't end there...

Well you're missing the bit on the chin, but getting there

EDIT: don't grow the bit on the chin. Looks good the way it is.
