Assassin's Creed III

I cannot wait! Image

I have read that their intention is to make AC3 look like a next-generation game on a current generation console. If they follow through with that then this game will no doubt look amazing as all holy fuck.

The previous instalments have been Assassins Vs Templars. All the marketing for III seems to show winning the war of independence and evil Brits. Hopefully the game itself will be the usual colourful mix of history and not just Eagleland RISING!

They have said that there are Templars on both sides and the same goes for Assassins. They seem to have weaved the Assassins war into the revolutionary war which should be an exciting story.

I fucking hope so, as I expect the PC version will be a port from the console version.

I'm going to wait for the Steam Christmas sale. I think I'll skip Revelations as well. Might watch a Let's Play of it instead.

I've been hearing bad things about this game.

As a fan of the series this makes me sad.

Free running has been simplified to one button press. It's buggy as hell, but nothing game breaking that I encountered. It absolutely leads you by the hand through missions, other than trying to get full synchronisation there is almost no replay value. The setting is simply not as compelling as either the Holy Land or Renascence Italy, or Constantinople. The inventory/trading/crafting mechanic is poorly implemented and slightly confusing.

On the plus side, the sea battles are pretty awesome, finding Captain Kidd's treasure quests are quite fun.

The franchise probably peaked with Brotherhood, and doesn't look like it has a bright future.

what a shame.

I've been hearing similar problems with Hitman Absolution... its is terrible all the games I've been looking forwards to.

Don't log out during side missions. I broke Frontiersman missions and can't complete until they patch. As stated above, the game has been dumbed down. Everything is basically done for you in free running mode. Also, quite a few bugs, I got launched super high in the air in NYC while free running. I felt that they could have done so much more with the story as well.

I rarely ever get bored playing computer games, but AC III turned out to be the exception. I wanted to know how it ends, so I finished it. Probably gonna do the same thing with AC IV. Luckily renting games is cheap as fuck. I can basically finish 10 games for the price of one.
