First part of the Half-Life remake due to release later today, completely free, you just need Steam and if you dont have a game running on the Source engine you can just install the Source 2007 SDK for free and you will be able to play the mod!

It was also Greenlighted on Steam this week so you will probably be able to install/download the mod directly through Steam, if they can do that in time for release.

I genuinely never thought this day would come. After many years of waiting they actually have the best part of a full game!

I just hope it's as much of a love letter to the Half Life series as I imagined it would be.

Instead of looking very much like 1998, it looks more like 2003, and considering the advances during those years, it is intended as praise.

Well, it has been made using an engine that debuted in 2004.

Blue Shift was the first Half-Life game I played so I'd like to see that converted but doubt they would because Half Life 3/Episode 3 will be out soon. Providing a new engine to convert them all too again plus Half-Life 2 as well.

I don't think I'm expecting too much from a developer that provides the game for nothing.

Either I've got better at games or they weren't that hard to beat. I remember being battered around the room for hours when I played Half Life.

Oh crap I've just remembered where I left my save game. Trash Compacter. :whine: I'm having trouble climbing boxes and I hate time limits.
