Completed DS2 main story and am hanging on for a friend who wants to do the DLC with me. Probably won't happen and I'll wind up clearing them myself before starting NG+.

So I started playing a Cleric, with a view to turning them into a Hexer as soon as I can. Second playthrough of the game shows how much I've learned from playthrough one. I'm breezing through areas, going straight to bosses, killing them and moving on. I'm picking a choosing where I farm for souls, rather than methodically clearing each area so I have a clear path to a boss. Having spells to lob around is fun as well.

Long term plan for the build is to get the Black Crypt Sword from using a bonfire ascetic at the Rotten. Infuse that bad boy with all the dark and then go round one-shotting things. A bit of a glass cannon build but, with sufficient ranged diversity to be flexible.

Once I've summoned the stones to face the Pursuer, I'll probably clear out Lost Bastille and Sinners rise, then drop down to the Gutter and make quick work getting to the Rotten. Then Shaded Woods -> Pharos-> Brighstone, get sword from Ornifex and then onto everything else.

I have an idea for a light challenge run to go for with DS 1 & 2.

Start as a Deprived, no gift.

You may only equip the Estus Flask and things that you take off of dead enemies. "Dead enemies" here means enemies that you have seen alive; killing an enemy by trickery counts as a kill, as does cutting off an enemy's tail (gargoyles, etc).

You may not pick up anything in the game from non-enemy corpses, chests, or lying on the ground. The ONLY exception is for keys; if you pick up anything else by mistake, you must throw it away.

You can buy items at the shop, but nothing that can be equipped in an equipment or item slot. So, for example, you could get a Repair Box but not Repair Powder.

I'm sure someone else thought of something like this already... but I think it's a cool concept, narrowing down your possible equipment loadout this much. In Dark Souls 2, it's far more difficult; I think maybe you could add "Estus Shards" to keys in the exceptions.

Using the January lull (aided by my complete lack of money) to get back into this game big time. All I have is a bunch of rags, a bandy bow, and a shiny, shiny katana. I'm pumping all my points into dex (started as Deprived). It means I'm a killer, especially with the Sharp infusion on my sword, but with just a loincloth, no shield, and little health, I have to avoid pointy things.

I'm playing Bloodborne at the moment. Still got DS1 to complete but, its just not as much fun as DS2 and I'm struggling to get through it and I'm not yet onto the second half of the games content which is widely regarded as being "meh". I've heard enough about DS3 to suggest that I'm not going to be any more excited about that than DS1.

I'm already further in than I got when I last played this game. You can take areas so fast when you know what you're doing.

Took down Yhorm the Giant last night. Now that was a battle and a half.

I've just listened to a podcast on IGN where the new DLC was described as being like something from Dante's Inferno. The Ringed City, they say, is this city that folds in on itself like something from Inception or Dark City, and each layer you go down pays homage in some way to the series, as if going back in time through the games (remembering that this is probably the last one).

Yup, its been out a while. Has some very nice minis and a lot of content from what I've seen. Not had chance to try it though.

It's pretty par for the course for a boardgame with that amount and quality of content.

I gave up on Bloodborne, I was just shit at it. :(
Returned today, and I've managed to finally kill the bloodstained beast in one sitting! After trying for weeks and abandoning the game I came back and dispatched it in seconds. FFS
Wheelchair man says go back to odeon church and find the workshop next. I've gone to the vet top of the church, I guess, killed some machine gun invalids and found a sword badge. But there's a deadend and locked door at the top in a tiny room full of urn-candles.
Wheelchair buddy has vanished.
Where do I go now?
