Yes. Got nothing against him per se, but he's not a favorite of mine either and seems to crop up everywhere lately.
More-over I don't particularly find real-life people/actors in fantasy or sci-fi games that appealing, often quite immersion breaking actually.

Remember when desperate exclusives were a console only issue?

At least it's not like you'd have to go out and buy new hardware just to get access to the Epic Store.

Having to have a bunch of different game launchers, all of which seem to be permanently wanting to update, themselves is certainly irritating though.

And it's just a downright noncompetitive, anti-consumer method.

I'm not *the* most bothered by exclusives and stuff like that, but I did briefly have the epic launcher installed on my computer (my nephew is a huge fan of fortnite) and it was a colossal ballache of intrusion and interfering advertising. They are clearly pursuing a very anti-consumer agenda that's only going to serve to inflate prices and depress consumer experience.

When push comes to shove I might be able to hold my nose to get a game I really want on their store, but far more than any of the previous most hated services I'll really be thinking carefully before I do.

Hopefully they'll end up heading the way games for windows live or whatever it was called went.

For me it's foremost the principle of the thing; rather than making a better product, companies that engage in exclusive practices actively try to limit the consumer's choice.

Yes, but I'd think that ultimately it's going to bite them like all the other PC game storefronts who've also relied upon exclusives rather than competing on quality of service. Let's face it, nobody buys games on Origin or Uplay for any reason other than that's the only place to get them from, and that's just led to them being sidelined in favour of Steam because there are only so many games that they're ultimately able to keep exclusive.

Not that Steam are angelic by any means, of course. Given the choice I'd buy all my games from GoG or the Humble Store, but I can't see the big publishers letting go of DRM just yet.

And it's yet another digital storefront to add to the others. Still, offering up a line-up of a hundred-plus games for the price of about three new one ones a year is the kind of competition I like.
