Pokemon X and Y

#1  Postby willhud9 » Oct 13, 2013 3:36 am

I decided to create this thread for the few of us who play this game so we can share our adventure, Pokemon teams, and accomplishments as well as maybe in the future set up Pokemon battles and trades.

Anyways, having just cleared the first gym, my team is squarely at a Bunnelby and a Fennekin. I had a Spewpa, but I didn't like it.

I got it last night, it was the first midnight launch I've been to in...probably three years.

I've got past the first gym a few hours ago, my team is full but I tend to swap out a lot. I love the fact that the original 3 starters make an appearance, I have an Ivysaur :)

Full team as it stands right now is Panpour, Blaixen, Pikachu, Riolu, Fletchinder (flying and fire, I think I may keep this one permanently) and Ivysaur.

So far, unless something convinces me otherwise, the only two permanent members of the team are Fletchinder and Ivysaur.

I want to use the Mystery Gift Torchic I got, but I already have a fighting pokemon and I don't really wanna get rid of Riolu yet.

Plus even without my starter, my flyer is also a fire type, and I don't really want two fire pokemon.

I am not going to use the Torchic. It is too strong and in my opinion makes the game a bit too easy. It's the same reason I didn't use the Victini they gave us for Black and White.

I like Torchic though. Have you gotten to the original starters yet?

Nope. Too busy exploring and catching all the Pokemon I can catch, also leveling up my Combee. I have no idea what original starter I want. I have always chosen Squirtle or Bulbasaur.

I have been playing this Pokemon's game as well, the graphics are amazing as is the gameplay. I must say I really love the look of the Pokemon styled gameboy.

Respect your elder boy, I was playing Pokemon's when it first came out. I used to have to walk up a mountain through 10 feet of snow to get batteries so I didn't lose my game save and then up another mountain and 20 feet of snow to get back.

It seems like I might have to check this out. Pokemon showed up a bit too late for me, but I've always been a fan of RPG's with party building --Dragon Quest, Shin Megami Tensei, Etrian Odyssey more recently. The only Pokemon game I played seemed like 1 on 1, so it was like playing Dragon Quest 1, really primitive

That is Sir Lord DarthHelmet86 Gramps to you whippersnapper.

X/Y interests me, but all new Pokemon games do in some respect but I can never get into them like I used to. The hours of grinding just aren't as interesting nor are the actual Pokemon themselves. The fact I could get Bulbasaur at the start does tempt me he was always my favourite Pokemon back in the day.

ACtually, the grinding is much reduced. EXP is a lot easier to get, and once you get an EXP share it stays in your inventory and gives EXP to everyone in your party. The one in the battle gets full exp and all of you party who sat it out get half exp.

I was thinking about getting this for my nieces. Is it suitable for six year olds?

I was worried about animal cruelty. They seem to be living in battery conditions.

This. You also gain exp when you catch a Pokemon. Praise Nintendo!

Yes Matt8819 was telling me on skype while we GTAed today. So I ended up getting two copies, one for my wife and one for me. I beat the first gym and she took over on her game last I saw she was at level 22 with her starter.
