I think I found a glitch. I was playing ironman and I did run and gun with a character who had ammo but not enough for a shot (didn't realize this) and when i go to my locale, the only actions I had were shoot, flush, and overwatch, all which require ammo and my turn wouldn't end. Had to close out the game and it auto saved a few turns before that.

Yeah there are a few bugs that are frustrating.

I once got stuck during an escort mission, just before finding my target, I got close and the camera shifting to show his still hidden location and did the banter. But the camera stayed locked on the spot.

Also I get very annoyed with the 'pointer' sometimes it targets a spot below or just doesn't want to play nice when throwing grenades. Bobbing around the places I'm trying to toss the damn thing.

There's an end turn option on the bar near the bottom left on the PC version at least.

Though any assault or heavy who can get in range and is rank 4 or above can basically gun them down in a single turn on their own. Ghost armor is pretty overpowered from this point of view, as a heavy can dash into good range while invisible, then unload 2 double damage shots (that's around 40 damage, more if you crit), assault dish out similar damage with double shot.

I know a few people who are long time X-Com players playing on Classic/Ironman, they admit it is really hard and have started over a few times but seem to be enjoying it. I think they are meant to be really unfair and hard to stop people complaining that the game is too easy.

What bothers me is that difficulty lies within the first three months and while its, scaling difficulty with progression, probably a boon of many other games, I consider it as bad design. Once satellites are up, decent gear acquired and soldier leveling done, difficulty drops significantly. If anything, the most brutal fight should be at the end not at the beginning.

I have restarted so many times (50+) that I am confident on CI to get to June with decent setup more likely than not, but I hesitate to progress because I fear that finishing the game will cause lost interest. So, atm I am trying different starting locations, base build and research order.

BTW why is there no free cam. at least optional, is beyond me. The engine is certainly capable and it does not seem like much extra work to implement it.

I had 2 snipers called Zaytsev and also Japanese guy called Kato, so yes it probably is :)

Game 98 CI .. Sep 18. Lost only Russia this time, first soldier in April, total casualties 8 - 3 in one mission, one UFO escaped, no mission failed, Alien Base Sep 1. Having Firestorm, Archangel, Titan, 7 Colonels, promoted rookies at 6+1 HP, 82 Engineers, 38 Scientists, $1249 income .. time to quit, again.
