I haven't been a gamer since the original D&D back in the '70s. But just for the human compassion aspect, this is really wonderful. It was moving to read their exchange on reddit.

Link doesn't load for me. Could someone give me a quick summary?

From the linked-to page,
When a commenter on the website of Legend of Grimrock asked about clickable on-screen arrow navigation for the upcoming indie dungeon crawler, developers said they had no plans to implement such a feature. When they found out why the commenter asked, they quickly changed those plans.

Cheers Bill.

Awesome. You're right paceetrate, I can't see a big developer doing this.

In the same domain, the developpers of the very good Bastion sent the only disc copy of their game to a US soldier in Afghanistan, after he contacted them. His connection over there didn't allow him to download it, even on steam, so they asked his adress, and sent him the game on a disc (source only in french).
As MacIver said, I don't see EA or Ubisoft do the same...

Edit : found it :
