Been playing The Long Dark lately. Nice little story about surviving in a snow wilderness after a plane crash (also it's post-apocalyptic). I get to collect firewood, boil water, scavenge for food and everything. Plus there's a story. Wolves keep attacking me. :awesome:

Pretty well done little game.

i'm quite tempted by that (reminds me of kona and kholat....and probably other things beginning with 'k')....why does every fucking half-decent game have to be fp, though? the perspective doesn't bother me, i just don't enjoy it as much....:(

It bugged me at first, but then the survival and rationing of stuff got so engrossing that I forgot. I spent like an hour trying to find water at the start and then realised I can just melt the snow and boil it in the fire to make it potable. By that point I'd run out of wood to make a fire.

That book is amazing, faithfull renditions of the stories simply told with a very light touch from Gaiman. I listened to the audiobook which he narrated himself, but I've got the hardback to show off on the shelf.

Also makes you wonder what the huge number of lost tales about the Norse Gods were. Gaiman mentions there are allusions to other stories in the myths but hasn't reconstructed any of the lost tales himself here, a second book would be a nice companion piece after he's finished the second American Gods book.

Despicable people, indeed. Especially the mother.

https://www.theverge.com/2018/4/25/1728 ... l-gambling

The Belgian Gaming Commission has ruled after a preliminary investigation that loot boxes in several games — Overwatch, FIFA 18, and Counter Strike: Global Offensive — are considered games of chance that are subject to Belgian gaming law, via Ars Technica.
According to a statement from Belgian Minister of Justice Koen Geens, the games currently constitute criminal violations of Belgium’s gaming legislation, and developers could be subject to prison sentences of up to five years and fines of up to 800,000 euros if the loot boxes aren’t removed. Per Justice Geens’ statement, the commission used four parameters to determine whether or not loot boxes in a game were considered a game of chance: if there was a game element that allowed bets to be placed, with a possible profit or loss, where chance played a roll in the result.

Is what I have been arguing for some time now. Good on Belgium and the Netherlands. Now if the rest of Europe could follow suite that would be amazing.

not 10/10 - i loved it but there was something missing, something i can't quite put my finger on atm...definitely 910, though, and the best game i;ve played for quite some time, probably since persona 5....so much goodness there....

FUCK SONY !!!!!!!

I just spent over 4h waiting for the update on my brand new PS4 Pro to be downloaded, so I could configure it and launch the download of GOW before going to bed. And at about 98%, I get a fucking error, and I have to download all again, the fucking stupid system didn't save anything apparently, which is something that is being done since what... 20 years ?

Fucking hell. I'm not even sure I won't get the same error tomorrow morning.

Fuck Sony.

I never thought I'd buy a game again just to have on Switch, but I bought Disgaea 5 because it wasn't getting love on the PS4 and already I'm way further ahead than I've ever gotten on PS4. It just feels at home here.

Unlike Bayonetta 2 which isn't getting the love it deserves due to the screen being too small. Gonna play it docked after GOW.

Funny, I did the exact same thing, and I also got much further in the game on Switch :)

I imagine these are mostly the type of games I'll be playing here. And platformers. Won't be playing DOOM on this little yoke anyway.

Got my eye on Octopath Traveller right now.

Playing around with the two Fire Emblem games on the GBA. Lots of fun, and I dig the art style. Story is total throwaway, just get me on to the next map. Never really got much out of tactical rpg's, but this one's simple enough to get into while still being fairly challenging -- I'm about halfway through both, and some maps I'll have to do 3 (or 4!) times to make sure nobody dies.
