Finished the Wolcen campaign. The ending is a big fuck you to the player. Disappointed. Rest of the game is awesome.

I had the same feeling about the ending. It felt like the budget ran out and the game just... Stopped. Reminded me of the ending of The Holy Grail.

Game is bugged beyond belief though, I can't remember ever playing a game that was so plagued with problems in every regard, from lags to connectivity to item duping to stash and even character deletion. Poor controls, abilities that simply fail to function, teleporting enemies. Goodness knows what else.

Somehow it was still quite fun, I will admit. I can't really explain it.

What I like about it is the feeling that I'm somewhat involved, even if illusory, in the action. I felt with Diablo 3, after a while, like I was a passive observer to a dance of statistics playing out.

The simple implementation of a dodge button, some stamina, (I know the console versions of D3 had a roll button but it is left unused) and enemies telegraphing moves puts a bit of action into the game.

Did anyone play CrossCode? Bought at some forgotten point in the past, but never got around to playing. Just started and very much enjoying, though I'm only a couple hours in. Nothing ground-breaking, but I like the character art and it seems to have some cool mechanics.

Horizon Zero Dawn, I've seen a few epic videos but it's this any good in your opinion?

I remember the characters and dialogue being pretty bad. Plot was decent, but nothing special if you've got any experience with the genre. I recall the graphics and gameplay being being really good, though. I wasn't very good at it

I thought it was great. I enjoyed the plot, I liked the main character and the actress who voiced her. The world building was fun and the gameplay worked. I mostly just cheesed explosive tripwires though. Way easier than using actual arrows!

What's the difference?

I would've thought the white knights for a game would be the people who defend at all costs and will hear no criticism.

In this case there was nothing to defend. No criticism was made. It was filed under a request. One which many people seemed to think allowing defiles the very hardcore purity of the game, as if streamlining and accessibility are synonymous with dumbing down.

Fun fact about me:

I play dark souls on the pc. I love dark souls. I have to use a controller. Mouse and keyboard is way too hard for the game.

In fact, for many games controllers make it easier and more user friendly.

Awards don't mean shit to me. One Direction's won awards out the wazoo, it's still garbage music.

Anyway, it's my recall from a few years ago. I remember the dialog being pretty clunky (especially with Rost, verging on cringe-inducing) or otherwise unmemorable...as in, I don't really remember most of the characters. Aloy's voice acting was fine (what's with the lame character names? Supposed to be a play on alloy? Why would you have a character whose name sounds like roast?), but I'm not sure why anyone's losing their minds over it.

I was excited about the setting because it's a genre I like, and they did alright but didn't blow me away. I've no doubt it was more interesting for folks who've never seen anything like it before.

Gameplay and graphics are the big sellers for me. Definitely worth playing, for sure.

It's Rost, sounds like rust. And yes, lots of the characters had metal themed names.

Rost like rust definitely makes more sense. Though roast did seem fitting :tehe:

A couple of months ago I started playing games regularly for the first time in many years.
I had never played live online games before, but now that I have a new laptop and fibre at home it is finally practical.

So, I have joined the ranks of World of Tanks, the smaller Blitz version, and am loving it. I play on the EU server with about a 220 average ping, lowest I have seen is 170. Approaching 6000 games in, and I have not yet worked my way to the top tier (10) tanks, but everything from tier 5 up is very enjoyable in the right vehicle with the right attitude.

Any other Blitzers around here?

FF7 Remake demo is online.

ETA : haven't decided yet if I'll try it before the game's release, especially since the save won't be reused.
