PlayStation have removed Cyberpunk from the online store and are offering full refunds for anyone who bought it already.

My next backlog game is FF7R. This is a really awesome game.

I loved FF7R. Beautiful, decent mechanics for a FF game, engaging characters. Lots of fun.

I also have FFXV as one of the 20 free games that game with PS5 (20 games and I already have and have played 18). Is that one any good?

Didn't get great reviews, so I didn't play it. I think it's supposed to be OK, but with a bit of a drifting plot and mediocre characters.

I tried it, and got bored after a few hours.

I bought Bioshock remastered from the GOG summer sale. Even though it's remastered, it plays like shit. The movementkeys seem to lag, either starting to walk a significant while after you've used a key or continuing to walk for several seconds after you've stopped pressing it.

Was tempted by that one. Glad I held back. I don't see myself playing through anyway... I've only played Infinite, and all the way through (rare for me) because it was a good story. Sometimes want to see what I missed in 1 & 2, but... eh.

ETA: Heretic + Hexen Collection for US$2.99, though... hard to ignore. :P

Outer Wilds might just get a playthrough... $4.99 after applying the wily "coupon" at Epic. There's so much praise for this game...

The Talos Principle: Gold Edition (DRM-free, Windows only) is on sale at GoG for US$5.47, which is probably as cheap as it's going to be for years. It seems to be another sleeper from a few years ago that I missed. Gold edition includes DLC & expansion, alternate 'Serious Sam' voice-over, making-of documentary, digital booklet, box art, other art, & soundtrack.

Titan Quest: Anniversary Edition in my GoG library for a while now, apparently has "fast mode" and "very fast mode", which speed up all actions. Big motivator. Also, base game & Ragnarok expansion 75% off for the next few hours.

Another great JRPG. This one is turn-based to it's a bit like Dragon Quest but with more depth and a little bit of Xenoblade style linking of characters thrown in.

10/10 on Steam.

I've been eyeballing that series for awhile, though the art style looks incredibly generic. But if it has some interesting mechanics I might finally pick one up.

Oh nice, I'll check it out. Probably on PS, my old-ass PC probably couldn't handle it.

Animavore wrote:If you're ever thinking of getting Celeste my advice is don't get it on Switch. The controller isn't fit for purpose and it turns what should be precision platforming perfection into fiddly frustration.

Ok, so I dropped my Switch last Monday and messed up the right stick so today I went in to buy a replacement and spotted this official third-party controller from Hori..

Image

Talk about breathing new life into the Switch, which of late has been getting less and less play time. These larger controls are a much better and I can play for longer without getting finger cramp. Celeste is now great to play and I even bought the new Ori. I had bought the first one on Steam rather than Switch because after Celeste I figured it would be just as awkward on Switch. Not a concern any more.
