I is lonely.

My ship is all alone. Stupid Megathron. I lost my Proteus the other day. That kind of hurt.

Tried Eve for a bit but just couldnt get into it, the real world is nasty enough that when I play computer games I want to escape to something at least a little heroic as opposed to who can abuse the system the most

You hear about the guy who set up a bank in Eve and spent time building up its reputation...... he gave out loans, paid interest, etc....... and when he got all the bloody money in Eve (well, not quite, but you know) he said, "Thanks for the ISK, suckers!"

Apparently it was enough to buy enough plexes to play the game for free for thousands of years or sell it for real tens of thousands of dollars....... so they watched his account after that.

There wasn't just one guy. There have been dozens of big scams in this game. This guy supposedly stole $45,000 worth of "isk":
http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/09/11/eve-online-player-steals-45-000-worth-of-isk-in-massive-investm/

That's $45,000 in real US dollars, if he managed to actually sell it all for that much, which I doubt.

One might think, after reading about all the scamming that goes on in this game, that there's a wild west kind of excitement to playing it. I played this about a year ago off and on, and actually found it kind of dull. A large part of the playing area is safe and NPC cops will teleport in and destroy your ship if you attack other players. 90% of the players never leave the safe areas because there's no point to risking losing your ship. I found ship combat to be kind of boring. I spent most of my time trading, and decided to give it up when I realized I'd have to devote too much of my time playing a game if I wanted to get anywhere.

I think Yahtzee called it a "game for accountants". Sounds like pretty much this.
- Pam.
- Yes?
- Get off the Pope.

My brother joined Dreddit (the reddit corp) and they have 2630 pilots so I've applied to join them too. They're currently snapping up lots of territory and I've never been in a PVP battle so I hope they accept my application. Will require me selling my Hyperion though. Don't want to have that blown up on my way to Dreddit space.

They're strict about posting on reddit. Apart from that they apparently don't really care what you do or have.

I've got Teamspeak3 since it suggested when I joined my SW:TOR guild

I've done a little pirate hunting, mostly crawled through a few epic questlines.
But right now I'm training skills to get into Planetary exploitation and exploration.
My characters is over two year old but has about 21 days actual playtime. :P
