Meet up sounds fun.
Unfortunately I have a birthday at the end of October and will be expected to socialise at home!
Have fun whoever makes it!

I'd come over from Aberdeen, but that's the weekend I'm being abandoned with the kids. :( And anyway, no-one knows me. :hello:

Only just noticed this thread.

I'm very temped. I'll probably be driving via Inverness so if anyone can get there I should be able to pick them up on the way.

My only concerns is it looks like I won't have a job soon so money may be an issue by then. And if I do still have a job I have a big party the weekend after so I may not be able to get it off.

But if these concerns don't materialise I'll see y'all in Fort Augustus.

We're off to the Highlands tomorrow afternoon. The overnight ferry, then a day long drive should get us to Fort Augustus by Saturday evening.

Here is exactly where we will be staying. Want to know the cool thing about this link? That's my car in the drive.

Same car that will be in the drive this week.

Anyone that's going to be around, knock us up. We'll have dinner. Or drinks. Or something.

Lock side, not loch side. We're in the old lock house next to the locks on the canal.

Oooh, it's quiet up here in November. We drove all the way up from Hull yesterday, which was too long of a drive, really. We made it without incident in the dark and rain from about Loch Lomond onward. Such a pity to drive through Glen Coe in the dark.

Rain or shine, and it'll be rain, we're getting the boys out for a walk this afternoon.

If you go a-wandering in Glencoe - and you should - consider calling into the Glachaig Inn for lunch or dinner. And if your other half is willing to drive, try the Fraoch ale

Cute? To Nessie they're just breakfast. Of course, as any True Loch Ness Monster will tell you, you put salt on 'em, not sugar.

All right, all you lazy, no traveling poops.

This year, from 10 to 16 August, I will be again near Fort Augustus. This time, I'm staying about four miles south of town, on the canal. However, it's not too early to plan a meet up during that week. Prime date would be Saturday evening, August 10. Secondary date would be Friday evening, August 16th.
