Various Acts of Peter Striking the Jail House Rock with a Wand

Post by Leucius Charinus »

Various 4th century versions of the apocryphal Acts of Peter (such as the "Acts of Processus and Martinianus" and the "Acts of Pseudo-Linus") are attested in later 4th century Roman archaeology. The church was to be built on the rock of the canonical Peter. However, the primary archaeological evidence abundantly attests to the presence of the apocryphal Peter.

Although the orthodoxy knew the apocryphal books to be the fiction of heretics these writings were not only well written, most exciting and very popular, but they specifically located the chief apostles Peter and Paul in the city of Rome. This was extremely good for business. Especially the Christian tourism industry. Damasus knew this. It paved the way for a thousand years of the Holy Relic Trade.

"It is, I think, expedient to set forth to all mankind the reasons by which I was convinced that
the fabrication of the Christians is a fiction of men composed by wickedness. "

There are people today who go on TV and do "faith healings" in order to scam people for money. It is also good business.
