For most of recent history, we had affirmative action for white people in the west. When we decide to counteract that history by hiring a minority, when all else is equal, racists do racism. Continue to do racism, I mean. When Jackie Robinson played in the majors, they still drafted more white players than not. Not to mention certain teams who resisted drafting any black player for up to 10 years, in the case of my hometown.
The Red Sox could've had Willie Mays AND Jackie Robinson as legend has it, were it not for the owner valuing his racism over winning.
Kamala's ethnicity means little to me, I'm voting for her because she's more qualified than Trump, and it's not even close. She's more qualified than Biden and RFK as well. I didn't love her as a candidate in 2020, but I mentioned somewhere on here that my perception of her at the time was that she was competent. It appears she's gotten a lot better at running for president since then, to my pleasant surprise. Trump is crashing and burning, which is what the country will do in conservative hands. The public facing ones are idiots and assholes. What a fantastic development all this has been for me.
Racists blabbing on endlessly about her ethnicity are trying to pretend that it means more to her voters than it does to racists. We see you.
