Amazingly, even Fox News is now hosting articles defending Tim Walz against the stupid lies and falsehoods uttered by Trump and his campaign about Tim Walz:

Tim Walz served his country honorably for 24 years. JD Vance, Trump need to respect that. He earned it

Following in his father’s footsteps, Democratic VP nominee Tim Walz joined the Army National Guard. He enlisted just two days after his 17th birthday

As anyone who has served in the military knows, there are often good-spirited jokes about other branches and jobs. The Air Force gets called the "Chair Force" (we love this, actually) and so on. While not true, these jokes keep interservice rivalries lively and everyone on their toes. In general, we all respect each other and understand that whether you are kicking down doors, flying planes, gassing vehicles, or cooking food, you are willing to do what 98 percent of the country isn’t: serve for a cause above all others. This makes the attacks on Tim Walz, particularly those from JD Vance, especially sickening.

JD Vance was an enlisted Marine who served honorably. While he didn’t see combat (he was in public affairs), he deployed and served his nation. He got out at the end of his service commitment after four years. For his service, he should be commended.

By noted Trump critic/realist Adam Kinzinger. Not saying it's not surprising that Fox published it, it is. I'm sure their tv hosts have called him a RINO more than twice. More than two dozen times even. I'm never going to love Kinzinger, but he gave up his seat in Congress because he wouldn't lie for Trump and MAGA. That's honorable, these days.

The thumbnail makes it appear that this commentary is about Trump. It isn't. It's almost entirely about Kamala Harris and her debate beatdown of Trump. And it's about how much effort the liberal media in the US have expended (until yesterday) on a negative spin of Harris:

That's all about personalities first and issues second, but issues are raised. If there is negative spin to be maintained about Harris, let it be on the face of particular issues or about any existing observations that we don't get line-by-line policy statements about how this or that platform plank or program is to be implemented. If it's going to be about that, let it also be obliged to show that any alternative would be clearer about the issue in question.

Of course, there is plenty to be said in the "inmate" thread about Trump as to who's telling him that he's a "disgrace", and why. Though he and his core support won't ever notice it, he is disgraced.

Then one half the country can spend the next 4 years congratuating themselves and laughing at the other half for being on the losing team. But it was really only a 50/50 chance anyway. It could have just as easily been the other way around. Not like there was any skill or moral standard involved. It just whoever says the best bullshit wins.
