Maga officials are so hopelessly unqualified and unserious. It puts not just the whole country, but by extension the whole world in jeopardy, from every direction imaginable. He displayed the arrogance of a person who just exists in a different financial and social world than most people. I'm a former career postal worker. When I worked sorting mail and loading trucks, we didn't go home until every piece of first and second class mail was loaded up and on it's way to the local branches. When I delivered mail, I didn't go home until every piece of first and second class mail in my possession that was deliverable, was delivered. The nature of the place was a low-morale zoo due to mismanagement, but the vast majority of us took the job seriously, because it is a serious job. Mail is important. This postmaster, as you probably can tell, lights a bonfire of rage in my head. <--------rant included.
If this Rep is maga, he's an exception rather than the rule.

This angers MAGA celebrities like Laura Loomer, who starts calling out Elon Musk for being anti-MAGA in front of her 1.4 million followers. And then Elon Musk retaliates by removing her X subscribers and removing her blue checkmark, effectively deplatforming her on X.

The MAGA celebrities were useful tools, but the tech billionaires will take it from here.

Trump launches cryptocurrency with price rocketing (BBC)

By Saturday afternoon, hours after its launch, the market capitalisation for $Trump reached nearly $5.5bn (£4.5bn), according to CoinMarketCap.com.

I looked at that and wondered who the flying fuck would spend $5.5bn on such an obvious grift. Aside from the dribbling MAGA cultists I'm guessing the bulk of it is from whoever just bought the USA.

I was holding out some lingering hope that Trump will just spend the next 4 years playing golf and his administration would manage to do sod all as they ate each others faces. No such luck though. Its looking more like the blatant criminality will continue, only now on steroids.

To the people of the USA - those of you who didn't vote for Trump have my deepest sympathy (those who did should be fucking ashamed).

For the rest of the world I can see us trying to dodge the shrapnel as the US empire and the Pax Americana disintegrate.
