Television Shows you're currently Enjoying
I don't mean right now, but at this very moment I'm watching the brilliant QI. Stephen Fry is God.
I'll admit, I'm a Lost-phile. I got bored of it during the second season but recently caught up online. I'm glad this is the last season though, and hope they answer all the questions they've posed.
I'm also seriously enjoying Caprica, the Battlestar Galactica prequel. I think following up an action-packed space opera with a family drama was amazingly brave. I'm loving the battle between the mainstream polytheism and the terrorist's monotheism faiths. I hope the series lasts for a few years, and we get to see development of the young Bill Adama.

My current faves:
Two and a Half Men.
House.
Bones (although less than in the past).
That's about it for network series. Of course, lots of stuff on PBS (Nova, various workshop shows, Frontline, etc) and the History/History International/Science Channels.

I caught my first episode of Two and A Half Men a few weeks ago, and enjoyed it. I'm not a huge fan of american comedy (I think we Brits do it better whilst America undoubtedly does drama the best) but I do like the Sheen family.

Re: Television Shows you're currently Enjoying
I'm currently in the process of watching the entire X files series (I might skip the last season, not sure yet)
Some shows I really enjoy are Venture Bros and Metalocalypse (wish they'd start airing the new episodes, grrrr), and from time to time I watch some Invader Zim, Futurama, Duckman, Frisky Dingo, Harvey Birdman. Big Adult Swim fan, as you might notice

I regularly watch (tivo'd) The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher, Madmen, and the Rachel Maddow Show. Also the occasional BBC show like Sherlock Holmes, Masterpiece Theater. Also some PBS shows like Nature and Nova. That's pretty much it except for movies. If I can catch old episodes of AbFab, I watch them too.

I'm currently watching C4's The Bible: A History, but to say that I'm enjoying it would be a bit of a push.

Re: Television Shows you're currently Enjoying
Most of my favorite shows are off-season ATM. But I am watching The Sarah Silverman Program and Celebrity Rehab presently. I'm also a big fan of competitive cooking shows. Chopped is one of my favorites on the Food Network.
Weeds should be starting back up again soonish. I actually watch a lot of the programming on Showtime. Dexter, Californication...
Web Soup on G4 is a weekly clip show about awesome stuff found on the internetz. The show wouldn't be half as funny as it is if Chris Hardwick didn't host it--he's really funny, and hosts a great podcast on nerdist.com, as well.
Hummm, what else do I watch? The Countdown and Rachel Maddow, every weekday. I watched a clip of Maddow on RDF once, and my husband was watching over my shoulder and we started watching her show that night. He is especially a big fan.
Sometimes I watch really boring stuff. Our cable has a channel where they broadcast board meetings for the local school districts, and I'll watch those to see what they're doing to screw up education next. And I'll watch village hall meetings, because our village president is a loony.

Ahh! I have series 1-7 on DVD. I lost interest after Mulder left.debunk wrote:I'm currently in the process of watching the entire X files series (I might skip the last season, not sure yet)
Oops, I forgot to mention the Daily Show. We don't get the Colbert Report or Real Time over here, but if we did I'd watch them too. I've had a crush on Silverman since she had a guest role Star Trek: Voyager back in the 90s (and thinking about it...she hasn't aged in the slightest!)
I also love Weeds. Have you seen Breaking Bad? Similar but taken up a notch. Dexter and Californication are on my 'to-watch' list.
One day when I can afford it I'm just going to buy all the DVDs for all the programs I want to see but never had a chance.

I don't watch a lot of television, but I do buy up lots of tv shows on DVD.
I'm currently working my way through Stargate SG -1 (I never watched oit while it was on), NCIS, and Criminal Minds. I'm loving Stargate to bits. I don't want to get up to season nine because I don't think I could watch the show without Colonel O'Neill in it!

Totally. I stopped watching it after that. I don't think Stargate: Universe will be on DVD yet....we're still half way through the season on both US & UK TV. But when it is you should give that a go; O'Neill is in a few episodes and Robert Carlyle is fucking brilliant in it as the frustrated, yet genius scientist.Crocodile Gandhi wrote:I don't watch a lot of television, but I do buy up lots of tv shows on DVD.

Do you have a service similar to netflix over there? It's my favorite thing ever--allowed me to discover all the great shows I never saw before they got canceled!MacIver wrote:

Re: Television Shows you're currently Enjoying
Is that a streaming/downloading service?
I live in the back-of-beyond and thus have to have satellite internet. This was subsidised by the Scottish government but because of this I didn't get a choice on what package I could get.
So I'm stuck with very fast internet but a ridiculous 4Gb monthly limit. So I can only stream shows occasionally, and then they must be low quality.

Currently on the air:
LOST
House
Caprica
RuPaul's Drag Race (what?!)
I also catch Daily Show and Colbert Report whenever I can. I watch whatever is on the Food Network or Discovery if a regular show is not on and I'm bored. Oh yes, or whatever terrible reality show is on VH1...I can't help it!
Waiting to come back:
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Dexter
Californication
True Blood
Top Chef

Re: Television Shows you're currently Enjoying
netflix does streaming/downloading [or "watch instantly"] but the bulk of the service is DVDs delivered via mail. So as long as you get post [and I suppose as long as netflix is available in your area] you can get the service. You might not get it as quickly as most people [1-2 days], but it's quite affordable and has a pretty great selection.MacIver wrote:Is that a streaming/downloading service?

I love NCIS. It's about the only show I go out of my way to watch.
Actually the episode that just finished brought a tear to my eye.

Ahh, I'm with you now. Yeah, we have a similar service here called Lovefilm. I use to be a member but had to quit when I lost my job. Hopefully be back in the rat-race soon and be able to sign-up once more.mmmcheezy wrote:netflix does streaming/downloading [or "watch instantly"] but the bulk of the service is DVDs delivered via mail. I didn't know what to think about the last episode of season two to start with, but on my second viewing I realised I was a fantastic episode. I was a big fan of Malcolm in the Middle in my teens so watching Hal mix Meth took a wee bit of getting use to.rachelsinatra wrote:Waiting to come back:

I hate to admit it, but Glee got me over the past season. Now I'm annoyed by the wait for April, and even more annoyed that I'm annoyed by it.
