Epic store's freebies have been boring for months now, but I also noticed they've rigged their frontpage to delay loading of the "Free Games" panel, by about a second. So when you first load the page, you see: top banner, "Games on Sale", "Now Trending". Eventually, "Free Games" loads between 2 and 3... by which time, their coders anticipate, you've scrolled through several more assets trying to locate it.

Just do what you're good for, Epic... jeesus.

In related news, Sweeney confirms under deposition that Sony's anus-clenched resistance to cross-platform revenue loss is a persistent thing. What surprised me, but shouldn't have, is the outright ban on Fortnite players opting for Switch. Idk if it still applies, don't care. Fuck them. Capitalism.

Love the new movements, and the new dinosaur monsters. Looks like I'm going to play this one as much as the first one
I wonder if they'll have an explanation for why monster types are limited to some areas.

It looks like they took all the criticisms of the first one on board. They seem to have vastly improved combat. I was looking at the 4K version earlier. The level of detail is crazy. They even have the little baby hairs on Alloy's face and her skin is slightly sunburnt. And it looks like they paid for mo-cap this time

Guess I need to finally buy a Switch -- Shin Megami Tensei V.



I haven't picked up the Nocturne remaster yet because I'd been hearing about bugs (and I've been on a shmup kick lately anyway). But a friend says it's great and sticks close to the original with decent QOL improvements to skill inheritance, so will probably buy next month or so. Nice to see the main series getting some attention instead of just the spinoff.

Technical problems, microtransaction problems. It seems they built a meticulous microtransaction scheme & draped a veneer of a game over it.

Season 24 in D3 starts July 23 & introduces ethereal weapons borrowed from D2 (D2 is the season's theme). Each will drop with a random legendary attribute & a random passive skill... giving the wearer an extra passive... which happens to be the unique class bonus for the upcoming D4 sorceress... which makes me wonder, if ethereals are a hit and are implemented in D4, they'll probably retain the "bonus passive" attribute... which means sorceresses won't be so special anymore.
