Ghostbusters

Read the OP, who is clearly a superfan and has followed the spin-off cartoons and probably whatever computer games there were.

I remember seeing a glimpse of the cartoon "Extreme Ghostbusters." One of the team is disabled, and fires his proton gun from his wheelchair. In the episode I saw (and I have to assume this happened quite a lot), the team burst into a house and go chasing ghosts, leaving their mate in the chair going "I'll check downstairs!"

As far as political correctness goes, this new film is hardly breaking a trend in the franchise.

I see that Milo what's-his-face has been banned from Twitter for racially abusing and stirring racial abuse towards Leslie Jones. He's now whining that the media is doing it's best to shut down right-wing opinion, and at the same time implicitly suggesting that saying racist things is a part and parcel of being a right-winger!

Anyway, he can't be racist because: “I keep getting accused of being a white supremacist. But if that’s the case, I must be the first black-dick-sucking white supremacist in history.”

That's right, Milo. And it's silly to accuse someone of being a misogynist if they say they like to pound vag at every opportunity. Maybe reducing human beings to their genitals isn't as egalitarian sounding to us as it is to you.

I don't know, this is the first time I heard of him and he seems an absolute waste of oxygen to me. We need a new continent populated only by disposable aboriginals to send people like this to.

Yes it is. The "jokes" in the new one are atrocious. It's the crappiest kind of attempt at humor.

Nope. It's not the original. It's more like a kids cartoon version of the original.

I definitely don't think Ghostbusters deserves any better than a good enough rating, though I bet it's fucking terrific when you're high or fourteen. It's a lot of fun but it's not a good film. Eighties kids who have deified the film are just trapped in the "Good Old Days" mindset. They enjoy it because they enjoyed it when they were kids, not because its good.

Just saw the new one. I found the first half enjoyable and quite funny, then something happened half way through where it seemed a toddler took over the writing. Suddenly it wasnt funny anymore, and the heinous effects were constantly in your face. Don't know what the fuck happened, but the second half was genuinely bad.

I honestly don't see it being enough like the first one to be called a copy. Lots of references to the first, but in terms of plot and tone it seemed like its own movie to me.
