It's shaping up to be absolutely huge. It's a shame the Hitch won't be there, but otherwise, it's a smorgasboard of education and entertainment.

I'm sorry they didn't have room for you on the lineup Lion, but your style of standup probably wasn't what they were after. I guess they were after people who were funny.

Hotel booked. :)
You'll find me at Travelodge Docklands.

I need to catch one of the AFL games while I'm there, thinking of seeing North Melbourne vs Geelong.

Any more news? Looks like an excellent program. I'd love to see a bunch of those guys, but time doesn't allow this time around. :(

I'm bloody sad that I'm going to miss this. That said, I'm running a half marathon on that weekend and that will help me cross something off my newly created bucket list.

I'll just have to put the next GAC on my bucket list. That will ensure I get there. Please somebody make sure that they take lots of pictures so we can all see how much fun you're having.

GAC 2012 panic sale blurb. "Tickets sold out early for the last Global Atheist Convention."

Maybe thats because people were being told...
...there are no plans to film the Melbourne Atheist Convention and no plans to release it on DVD

However.....

And....

That comment was by someone who quit working for the convention and judging from the date they posted that comment (October 2009), it was early on in the planning and may have been true. Things changed over the months and they left before the final stages.

If it was on the official site that it wasn't going to be filmed (rather than a comment on a Pharyngula blogpost, months before the convention was underway), I'd give it more weight of authority. I personally doubt many people saw that comment, since it's not cited by anyone elsewhere, not even by other commentators on that blogpost.
