Have you been to a Dawkins Event ?

Post by Ciwan »

Hello Guys

There's a Richard Dawkins event in Albert Hall in London for the 19th of October. But as I try to buy a ticket, it keeps saying that it can not find them tickets !!

I was wondering, have any of you been to any Dawkins events, and if yes .. did you enjoy them, did you have the opportunity to get your books signed, and perhaps a photograph with him

Thanks

I was at an event in Dublin. He was reading from his new book at the time which was The Greatest Show on Earth.
There was a book signing at the start which I missed. Not that it bothers me.

Am I right in assuming that any chance of a photograph would be at the book signing stage ? I've never been to any intellectual events before, book signing or otherwise.

Yep. In Germany last year. He was promoting the German edition of The Greatest Show on Earth.
No book-signing for me, though, because I have it on my kindle. And it was too crowded anyway.

I've just paid £47 for my ticket, I hope he is there, else I'm asking for a refund.

Yes, I did. It is a joy to listen to a speaker like him. Very easy on the ear.
There was one thing, though. It was announced that there'd be a translator. There was, but she didn't translate anything. Prof Dawkins asked her to clarify one or two things, and that was that.
Most people in the audience didn't need a translation, but the ones who did wasted their time.

As an idea some kind of central signing device that agents rent from Amazon and it links via Whipernet to drop a author signature with personalised message onto your kindle.
