It's a real long-shot this one, but I'd like to meet some of you nutbarz eventually. I am in the very south of England, that's my problem.

Re: Highland meet-up
A shame it's not in December.
It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me
It's more the way you really mean it
When you tell me what will be.

Hmmm... you're buying huh?
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

Forget December in Scotland. There is hardly any daylight and it is fucking cold.

[quote="Regina";p="1463243"]A Belgium meet-up might be an idea anyway...
It doesn't always have to be the UK. Let them come over

I would consider it.
Fort Augustus is one bridge to far for me especially in Octobert/November. It is cold dark and wet.

Why do people already on the island always seem to have a harder time getting to another part of the same island than I do coming from another island?
It's ridiculous. When I went to Edinburgh with Ratz I got there easier and for cheaper than someone who had to get the train from the South of England. Same when I was in Brighton. A girl with us came from Scotland. I was home and in my bed before she'd even reached Wolverhampton even though she left before me. It just seems mad.

Dinner. Drinks are your problem.
There are limits to my wealth, though. Actually, I don't expect many to be able to make it. It's a long ways to go for an overnighter.
Unless a some decide to make a longer trip out of it, which would also be nice.

Just infrastructure. Britain is very bad outside the main corridors. It has trains but the underlying infrastructures are missing. It has a great reliance on cars to move people around.
I can get down to Paris in three hours. Went to Berlin in five hours.
I will be in London next week in four hours. All by train.

Re: Highland meet-up
Correct, this will be a round-trip of 23 hours & 1202 miles. I live fairly rural & it'd take me one hour on the train to get 50 miles,, because of all to level-crossings.
Have a look on the map, Barnstaple - Fort Augustus. It would be fun though.
Oh, Belgium would be cracking! I'd get myself some smokes on the cheap at the same time..

Scots men can handle the cold, the wet and the darkness. We're bred that way.
It's still a beautiful country.

Some of the Scots men I've seen are pretty fantastic.
