Lucy Worsley has a knack for packing a lot of information into a short amount of time. I just watched episode 2 of American History's Biggest Fibs, about the American civil war, which is the best and most nuanced of her six episode 'fibs' episodes. She manages to outline personal, political, social and economic aspects of the conflict with wonderful concision and precision. Keeping in mind that she is constrained by the one hour format, she squeezed a fair bit of information, albeit briefly, into the piece that Ken Burns chose to leave out in his 10 hour treatment of the subject.

It's been around a while, but mostly dormant. Most of the educational programming I watch is on YouTube and probably not quite considered documentaries.
The last one, I think, that I watched is Tourist Huntin on The Maine Coast, an obscure 28 year old VHS release that I can't seem to find available online.
That's a different one, because in the one I have he rides a motorcycle. I especially appreciated this segment -

Is anyone else watching David Attenborough's Netflix show Our Planet?

The show mainly covers climate change and how it is affecting animals. The first episode after the introductory episode shows how declining ice affects krill to the South Pole and how it could cause a collapse up the food chain. And seals, polar bears, and a particularly sad fate for walrus in the North.


Worth a watch.

Watching "The Polar Sea" on Netflix.

Slow going, not an edge-of-your-seat ride by any means, but interesting.
Mainly about travels around the Northwest Passage and the life/scenery/culture/history/changing conditions of those areas, as experienced by 3 Norwegians, initially on a small yacht.

I don't see why. Had the program attacked the industry then they would've weaponised his show as a leftist conspiracy (not that some haven't already).


The show is there to highlight the issues. I think this show is already resonating with people. On a phone in talk show on Irish radio yesterday a lot of people were talking about how sad and distressing the walrus scene was, for instance.

Watching "The Polar Sea" on Netflix.

It was slow but I enjoyed the flipping back and forth between the cruise ship and the tiny sailing ship.

History Channel: Road to 9/11

Head of CIA's Bin Laden unit's words was so meaningful "just a single sentence we need from political authority and it was "kill Bin Laden" I dont know why they didnt do that after embassy attack" there was higher or lesser chances they had but from 98 to 2001 they had a lot of time for an assasination. Its hard to understand what they waited for this group clearly mentioned targeting high buildings and used bomb filled van in prior attacks.
