Dracula

Hyperbole springs to mind. Absurdity and infantile horror tropes of the stereotypical sort for Dracula. It's the potential to become a underground classic. On account of the one liners rather than the over-arching storyline. Why the boxes and not coffins? Seems the desire to be different extended that far and no further.

It's a real Dracula remake, although only just about real. They really tried to make it scary, and funny, at the same time. But it would have been so much more if they'd stuck to one or the other rather than trying to nail the contradiction.

A miniseries on the BBC. Probably on BBC America soon.

Based on the first episode, I can highly recommend it. :thumbup:

Think of a rebooted, harder edged Hammer style. I'm looking forward to episode 2 tonight.

That’s a good description. I was quite apprehensive based on the trailer, and yeah, it strays from the book, but I found it quite atmospheric. Also the humour isn’t a Mrs Brown’s Boys sort of thing, it’s subtler and ominous.
