Well, those are our two other official languages...
And, unlike Switzerland, we don't have a largely monoglot region for each of those languages. Indigenous Luxembourgers, and those with a background of migration who have been through the school system here, speak all three. Just in the capital, where most people serving in the shops and restaurants are not from here, you can't really manage without French, or probably English.
But that's too much information for a welcome thread. Härzlëch Wëllkomm!
Villmols Merci!
I don't think it's too much information for a welcome thread. I appreciate it.

Luxembourg is actually a myth - it doesn't really exist.
That's more appropriate for a welcome thread!

Metaphorically of course, because Luxembourg doesn't exist, so the stories about everyone picking on Luxembourg must be allegories about how we shouldn't treat real countries that do exist.

Hold on. Aren't you getting Luxembourg mixed up with Bielefeld? They do both have three syllables, but really, with a little effort, one can distinguish them, because only one of them does not exist.

Ok, well don't pick on Monaco then.
Don't pick on Monaco! Remember the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf, or the even more abstract one about a country called 'Luxembourg'!

Wait until some around here get warmed up. Some of them will put reality in the same sentence as a deity...
