I actually saw that tv show some time ago - not bad, it appears Amazon is doing some serious competition to Netflix
One thing for sure - casting Alan Ritchson as the protagonist was a spot on idea

Yeah Amazon has a huge catalogue tho way too many marginal movies in it. The Reacher was a winner.
Have you done The Expanse ???

The shift away from "unlikely marine" Tom Cruise to actual beefy hunks ( ala the rework of Jack Ryan ) is welcome.

I haven't watched The Expanse yet (I guess, I'm not much of a sci-fi enthusiast)

Recently I had opportunity to watch Whiplash (2014) - it's a really well made social drama, my only regret is that I didn't see it earlier.

The Expanse will be confusing initially - I bounced off a couple of times but it flat out is worth persisting ...the characters are extremely engaging. We have the books, the series and the Audiobooks and have both been through them all a couple of times.....characters and story so engaging. Give it a go.

Whiplash was okay tho somewhat distressing.

Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. I think it's one of the best movies I've seen in a while.

A lot of comparisons have been made with The Matrix and Jet Li's The One. I think the multiverse worked contrary to The One in that killing other versions of you made you weaker with less access to other universes, and I thought it was closer to another Wachowski production which was Sense8.

In that show you may remember the characters had access to each other abilities, memories, and emotional states. Similarly in this the main character had access to other versions of herself and like Sense8 one version would end up acting out what another was doing. For instance using a riot shield as a weapon in one universe while another spun a pizza sign in the other, choreographed together.

I also thought the movie reminded me of Rick and Morty. It explored the wackiness of the multiverse as well as the potential nihilistic consequences realising how tiny and insignificant it all is while using humour to prevent it sinking into the darkness of its subject matter and as an anecdote to it.

Mostly it's a movie about family, love, choices, regrets, absurdity, and appreciating what you have with a great turn from Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Kwan. With some inventive and memorable action scenes. Filled with cultural references, but not in the nostalgia baiting way that is currently popular. And highly creative use of VFX from a very small team using many practical effects.

love a good mountain-climbing film - not heard of this one so will add it to the list

More mountain rescue but yeah worth the watch. I've been to the top of Mount Washington by mcycle and was shocked at the sign with the windspeed....231 MPH - only recently toppled by a 253 mph in a typhoon.
Meru is astonishing if you haven't seen it.
Sherpa and 14 Peaks more recently.

Here is a list - I had a hard time with Free Solo ....just too edgy. Couple on here I have not seen.
