Got up far too early and looked hard. A thin layer of clouds to the east obscured the comet for us. I will try again!

hehe ...might be okay tomorrow as Tstorms finally arrived and cleared the gunk - fingers crossed.

Alarm set for 3. Should give me plenty of time for coffee, alignment of the mount and tuning my phone for conditions.

How cool would it be to capture Neowise and a meteor fall?

Dottor and I were 40 km offshore of Cairns on the Great Barrier Reef on an overnite camped on top of the dive platform.
Enjoying the Magellenic clouds et al and didn't realize the debris from Halley's was putting on a show.
Did not get much sleep watching fireballs and dozens of smaller meteroids. Once in a lifetime.

The cat buggers off and leaves the platform completely still and quiet far out on the reef with no loom.



Dottor and I would like to do it again during October when water quality is better but not likey to pair up with a lightshow.

Seems so far away and inccessible with Covid shutting travel down. Thank goodness for photos

Well everything but the kitchen sink visible in the Toronto sky this morning except the damn comet, Venus, Mars, jupiter plus the space station transit ( unexpected but a treat ) a wandering racoon, some bats ....no comet.....

Even could pick up the phase of Venus with the big lens. Nice coverage of the lens. https://naturalexposures.com/leica-lumix-100-400mm/ The fact that someone is using it for astro-photography has me thinking.

Same here, but sans raccoons. I blame the moon washing out the sky combined with our humidity load. The sky to the NE is just a glow. The field of stars end at about 20° from the horizon, and Neowise is somewhere in the soup.

Terrific sky really given time of year and humidity. Jupiter was brilliant. Maybe tomorrow sigh.

My 800mm lens might be enough for Saturn and Jupiter on the tripod if it clears up. That's 16x and it's a Leica.

I have to say with Hubble images in lovely 4k ...doing my own has less appeal tho the comet is worth the effort.

About what time was your stunning pict taken?

For the past 6 nights a thin layer of clouds has dulled the brighter stars in Usa Major, so any attempt to find Neowise has been a study in frustration for me. That and feeling like shit.
