Do injuries to the brain make the victim bite?

#1  Postby Hugin » Aug 28, 2010 9:16 pm

I'm not exactly sure where to put this...

In the movie The Shawshank Redemption there is an instance in which the prison rapists try to force the main character into having oral sex with them, threatening to stab him in the head is he tries to bite their genitalias off. He then responds that injuries to the brain causes the victim to bite, and bite very, very hard.

I wonder, is this true? If so, is it true if other body parts than the brain are injured?

It's as true as most of your assertions about socialism

In your dreams, sunshine. I'm a socialist, so threads on socialism are of interest, and I'm a psychologist with a particular interest in brain-injury & neuro-psychiatry, so a thread on brain injuries is similarly likely to pique my interest.

i think you may have misheard what was said. victim stated that if perp put dick into his (victim's) mouth he would bite down hard and if killed, rigor mortis might set in instanta, making it difficult, nay impossible to extricate said dick from dead mouth.

Hmm yes. Is that what would happen in reality as well?

No. Rigor mortis does not set in immediately.

Does this mean we can ask if people shit themselves upon death too? :shifty:

Instantaneous rigor, cataleptic rigidity can occur in certain conditions, but this isn't actual rigor mortis

I think you had to have been exercising pretty hard for instant rigor mortis to occur.

But keep in mind that in the context of that movie, it doesn't really matter if it was true or not. He was trying to deter the other guys from forcing him to give a blowjob, so the only important thing is that they believed it.
