Opinions on Ghostwritten? I thought Cloud Atlas was interesting and ambitious, but it was Bone Clocks that blew me away. I read on Kindle with progress turned off and I almost wanted to cry when I turned the page to see only Acknowldgements.

I know, he's great. I love all his books equally I think. I've got [¡]Slade House[/I] here too, but I don't know want to read it, because then I will be Mitchellless.

Opinions on Ghostwritten? I thought Cloud Atlas was interesting and ambitious, but it was Bone Clocks that blew me away. I read on Kindle with progress turned off and I almost wanted to cry when I turned the page to see only Acknowldgements.

Towards the end I was getting fed up with it, but like you a bit mystified by the sudden finish. I was looking at 100% with one of the themes just getting going again. I can only think that the authors point was that while in this case an AI could stop war by interfering with digital communication there was no answer to the low-tech idiot. Therefore no point in continuing that theme, he'd made his point. I think.

I've got Black Swan Green, Number9dream and The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet, and I'm not sure whether to try one of them?

Black Swan Green is an easy read, while Jacob de Zoet I found a bit of a slog. Good, but a slog. I didn't finish Number9dream but this was due to personal circumstances and had nothing to do with the book itself.
