Bear Grylls meets postcolonialism in this tale of a servant girl fleeing captivity and the plague in 17th century America. I enjoyed it, although some of the depicted cruelty was hard to read.

Well, I have read more than one in 2023, but just finished The Bell Curve by Herrnstein and Murray. A sobering book even if only a fraction is accurate.
"That's right!" shouted Vroomfondel, "we demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty!"
