The person makes the faulty conclusion with his definition of toevah. Toevah means "that which is foreign." Meaning it was something which the nations surrounding Israel may have engaged in, but the Israelites in keeping with the Holy Covenant were forbidden from doing. Hence the prohibition on shrimp, etc.

Both Islam and Christianity basically say a person will burn in hell for all eternity unless they try to at least covert everyone around them. Now of course most muslims and Christians ignore this but how can that not promote hatred in those who take it seriously

As much as I condemn the persecution they have suffered, the bible describes them doing equally bad shit to their local rivals, if it is to be believed.
