Out of curiosity I just looked the the UK singles chart. Other than Justin Timberlake and Rita Ora, I've literally never heard of any of them.

Hedy Lamarr – the 1940s ‘bombshell’ who helped invent wifi.

Justin Bieber - another zero impactor.

I was wondering if I picked a random week from 1996 would I know most of them as I tended even then not to listen to chart music.

Know every one of them.

The fullstop after "noms" suggests it is an abbreviation.

Righto. Some sort of music award that I'll no longer be able to read about in a printed version of the NME.

Taylor Swift is a hate crime against the entire LGBTQIA+ community.

I've heard of a lot of the 1996 ones, but only remember 7 of the songs, and 3 of them are ok, otherwise blech.

There's one on the 1996 chart that's just for you Spinny!

It's also a hate crime against the entire LGBTQIA+ community... and the stamp collecting community... and the people who buy washing powder community...and well, everybody, really.
