David Mitchell and Victoria Coren announce engagement


Peep show star David Mitchell and TV presenter Victoria Coren have announced their engagement in The Times.


The couple appeared together in 2010 on BBC quiz show The Bubble. Coren thanked fans for their congratulations on Twitter, saying: "I'm very happy."

Mitchell also reacted on Twitter: "Having received so many lovely messages today, I'm finally coming round to the internet.

"Thank you all. I'm incredibly happy," he added.

Never really understood the whole dressing up as a cat thing being attractive.
Cats either lay around all day under parked cars, scream all bloody night when in heat or shit on the carpets. None of these things do I find even slightly appealing.

I appreciate David Mitchell's sense of humour, and am happy for him in an "I don't really give a shit" way.
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

I think she's very smart and sometimes witty, of course she looks great too. She never seems to be enjoying herself much, even when she laughs.

Mitchell on the other hand is one hell of a partner. I'd marry him :coffee:

Hmm, I always found her to be a bit standoffish. Although who can say what's she's like in person? And certainly I can't deride her intellect.

She just went down a little in my esteem after reading that article (but not much).
I think her family is Jewish. IIRC Alan Coren, her father, was a lapsed Jew.
I'm fairly certain that David Mitchell is an atheist.
