I thought about that too, but I am reminded by the fact that this is an amusement park, and the story is written by entertainment writers and the characters are just that. Of course it will come off as Hollywood.

I'm fine with that as long as it doesn't color too much the scenes where the hosts are "off script" or found a new narrative.

Okay. My opinion has changed since the last episode. The mercenaries running around the mesa facility seem to have skipped "taking cover" day during basic training. They run through like they think they are immune to bullets.

Also the one guy letting down his guard to be sexed up by Angela in a completely obvious ruse. How did this moron get on the team?

Too many convenient interruptions in the nick of time to save multiple main characters. It seemed like quite lazy script. Rushed.

Tell them there's a big gap in the market about to need filling. If you don't get here to negotiate soon you'll miss out.

Somehow, the underlying message of the 2nd season of The Handmaid's Tale seems to be that the most important thing for women is to be good mommies. What an odd development.

Siren

#10053  Postby DavidMcC » Jun 12, 2018 2:49 pm

The star character in this program is a mermaid (played by Eline Powell) who is super-strong (shades of Buffy there!), and who has to pretend to most people (apart from close friends) that she's just an ordinary girl (again, like Buffy), and must avoid the police (except for the father of her close friends, Ben and Maddie, a couple living in SIN  !). It's for people who enjoy subtle humour (Buffy again).

EDIT: I forgot to mention that this is not to be confused with SIRENS, a fictional series about emergency services, I believe (having not seen it).

Okay. I've flipped again. Episode 8 "Kiksuya" was really good. Great story. Added so much needed background to the Ghost Nation. The story almost had me in tears (I wasn't crying, you were).

Finally watched the Sense8 finale.
Mixed feelings. One the one hand it was a beautiful ending, on the other hand it reinforces my disappointment that they cancelled the series.

Nor is it to be confused with Sirens, a delightful film loosely based on the artist Norman Lindsay, whose voluptuous drawings and paintings stuck very much in the craw of the prim and proper establishment of 1930s Australia. It features Hugh Grant, Sam Neill, Elle Macpherson and Kate Fischer among others.

The Americans bit of a twist at the end but I enjoyed the ride and the trip through memory lane....well executed and I loved the music.

not one here either
