In Better Call Saul he's more all and devious and it's made out that this is the real Jimmy McGill behind the character of his alias Saul Goodman.
I've never been able to buy this line. I don't think BB's Saul was ever meant to be conceived as anything more than the superficial chancer he was. BCS all comes across as after the fact.

I am expecting that something in life is going to turn that around. He's fighting the "good fight" still and there are two people in life he really cares about and are at the base of his deviousness. Indeed, something happens at the end of Season 3 that might trigger the change in Season 4. I'm trusting the writers to connect the arcs eventually.

I was really hoping for a surprise cameo when Saul called that burglar. But then later we got an even more awesome surprise cameo!
