Last episode of Catch 22. Good. Not as good as the book, but quality stuff.

Just watched season 1, it is indeed brilliant. Louie C.K and Pamela Adlon do a very good job together.

The show's got its mysteries, and some of them I think it shares & some it doesn't... but I think the title is probably not meant to be esoteric -- I think it stands for the struggle & hope of passing on "better things" to the next generation, whether materially or psychologically. (Probably also moving on as a middle aged newly divorced/separated mother.) That's the main vibe I get from Adlon's character... and actually, I think the show takes its time diving under the onion layers that is her relationships with her mother and father, which define the character ...but it's still not 100% clear we understand exactly how yet, imo. It's a journey.

Man, but this is the antidote to the usual tv.

Umbrella Academy.
Pretty good, impressive performance of some actors (Ellen Page, the "kid" Aidan Gallagher), but the story looks a lot like X-Men (Vanya is pretty much identical to Phoenix, in every way) with a little bit of Fringe (experimenting and recruiting kids for a future cataclysmic threat).

I'm trying to stay with it... for the sake of the gimmick mystery. But already in the first 3-4 episodes the number of dumb/unbelievable human reactions is making me

Finally got around to The Expanse season 3. Halfway through and I never knew I wanted to see what happens to a body travelling at thousands of miles per second in a ship if it comes to a sudden stop before.

Battlestar Galactica reboot, re-watching (3rd time?) with friends. Of course, if you haven't watched it yet, beware that it actually starts with the so-called mini-series, which is normally hosted as a 3-hour movie, and listed separate from the rest of the show... :batty:

I enjoyed the BSG reboot series. Didn't like how it ended though.

Season 3 of The Expanse turns it from a space pirate sci-fi, akin to Firefly without the jokes, to something like a more hard sci-fi like Iain M. Banks Excession.

Damning it with faint praise there. Problem is, it's not bad enough to relish the stupidity. Why the fuck do they always have lights on inside their fucking helmets? Who thought that would be a good idea? What's that over there?? No fucking idea, all I can see is the reflection of my own face. And why not just open your face plate and breathe the unknown atmosphere? What could possibly go wrong? They're going to extract enough hydrogen and oxygen from these special crystal thingys to replace all their fuel and atmosphere, and all they need is enough to fill a carry on bag? That's some compact goddamn oxygen there, I can tell you.

Terrible. Terrible show. Didn’t make it past the second episode...at least I think it was the second and not the first...I sort of drifted off after a while, just there was this woman running around in her pants and something happened, but I don’t know what.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!
