I spotted this thread & thought it was about Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry - something along those lines anyhow. Just goes to show how wrong I was. I've already mentioned my favourite anime, favourite anime character is obviously my avatar (Jessica Rabbit).

The Rose of Versailles and Maison Ikkoku will always be my favorite anime, I think (even though the Maison Ikkoku manga is vastly superior to the excellent anime adaptation). Kodomo no Omocha and Sailor Moon are also great. Evangelion, too, the show that popped my anime cherry.

Let's see...

DEVIL MAY CRY (played 3 and 4, rocks)

BLEACH (watching, reading the manga, cool)

D. Gray Man (stopped watching, season 3-4 not dubbed, yet)

I don't really watch any other anime series. Right now, it's only Bleach...*shrug*

Well, the manga is picking up but it' still dragged out, especially the anime with the filler arcs. Plus once per week. Come on...

Yeah, episode 273 just yesterday. I already know what'll happen because of the manga, but it's good to see it in colored animation. Dubbing is slow, but I like the American voice-actors better. e.g.: Johnny Young Bosch It's quite interesting, when Japanese say attack names it's sound dull, even annoying, but when Americans say them in Japanese it's cool. And what the hell is the deal with Japs and their obsession with American words? They always throw them in here and there, I really doubt they don't have a word for e.g.: Soul Society. Hearing them say it in bad English, makes me cringes. Also in bad German and in bad Spanish *shudder*.

Have you noticed, they swear more and more in anime these days and in non-anime/non-japanese animations as well?

Hey, isn't it time to revive this thread?

Going to watch Mnemosyne No Musume Tachi this week. I had seen the first episode some time ago, but as it had just aired, I thought to wait until all of the series is finished, so here I am a couple years later, and still haven't watched it. Need to catch up on my anime.

I've found that my tastes in anime have changed a lot over time. When I was a kid I used to watch all the stuff on Cartoon Network (back when they showed anime). Robotech/Macross was the first anime I can remember watching, but I think DBZ really got me into it. What 13 year old could resist DBZ and Mechs? Outlaw Star, FMA, FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, and Gundam Wing were all awesome shows from back then.

As I watched more, I really found that I enjoyed the darker anime, particularly stuff like Berserk, Claymore, Gungrave, and more recently, Darker than Black.

Lately I've been enjoying slice-of-life anime and romantic anime. For the longest time I just thought more mature anime were simply more violent or sexualized. Then I watched 5cm/s, Angel Beats!, and Clannad. I was completely unprepared that anime could bring about so many manly tears... especially Clannad.
